2. De Donde Eres (Website)
- Every night, the menu at De Donde Eres is put up on a white board. They serve three unique entrees created from the freshest seafood, produce, and beef available locally. The options can range from lamb stew, Indian curries, Chinese stirfries, seafood crepes, and comfort food casseroles. You'll begin your meal with, as Sabrina puts it, "A little munchy something." No, it's not on the menu, it's just there as a gift. The meals are always generous and never boring while the wine and beer is also served luxuriously. - La Gula is one of those restaurants you want to keep secret. It's a beautifully decorated, second floor restaurant with a view of the twinkling lights of the hills surrounding Zihuatanejo. La Gula practices the "Slow Food" gourmet tradition of preparing all food to order and with the freshest of ingredients. Several of the salads on La Gula's menu are culinary delights in themselves and are large enough to share or eat as an entree. The menu is an exploration of Mediterranean, European, and Mexican food with unexpected ingredients and seasonings mixed together to form unique dishes. Favorites include empanadas criollas, capricho de la tierra (a tower of grilled vegetables), angeles a caballo (shrimp wrapped in bacon), and mignon punta madera (filet mignon topped with a gentle coffee sauce).
